Got an interest in plants and all things gardening? The Woodworks Garden Centre & Café have an exciting opportunity for a part time Plants Department Assistant to join the team on a temporary/seasonal basis.
We are looking for people who would enjoy working alongside others in a physically active role, interacting with customers and developing their interest in plants. Successful candidates will be happy working both indoor and outdoor whatever the weather and will feel at home in a busy and physical job. If this sounds like you then read on.
What will I be doing?
You will be hands on with the watering and care of our plants to make sure everything is in great condition. You’ll also assist with general housekeeping, merchandising stock and receiving deliveries. You will enjoy meeting and helping customers with their plant selection, giving advice and helping them to their car with their purchases. Of equal importance will be the effective managing of customer queries and the accuracy and efficiency to process payments through our till system.
What qualities are we looking for?
- Confident dealing with people and good interpersonal skills
- Capable of a physically demanding role, including moving larger or bulky items
- Able to handle multiple tasks and enquiries calmly and decisively
- Knowledge and interest in plants and their care
- Works well as part of a team and is adaptable and flexible
- Processes orders efficiently
- Commercial aptitude
- Previous experience in retail environment
- Demonstrable experience in a customer facing role
- Positive and solution focussed
