THE MOLD based P&A Group have once again gone the extra yard for charity.
The latest fundraising activity for P&A was a charity golf day, held at Pwllglas Golf Club near Ruthin, where they raised a further £300 for their chosen charity for 2017 Cancer Research UK.
At the beginning of the year, P&A picked Cancer Research as their chosen charity and set a £10,000 fundraising target to reach. Already, they have well exceeded that target and have currently raised a huge £13,500 for the cancer charity.
Fundraisers so far have included, the Manchester Marathon, where 25 P&A staff members started and all finished, It's A Knockout at Ysgol Maesglas in Holywell, a 10,000 step challenge - with a marathon, triathlons and cycling events all still to come.
Also, this Sunday (July 30) two P&A employees will take on the notoriously tough Snowman Triathlon in Capel Curig, Snowdonia.
Speaking of the golf day, Operations Director at P&A, Rhys Hughes, said it was extremely successful and that he was proud of the strong Welsh representation on the day.
"We chose Cancer Research because it is a charity close to many of our hearts, and to see what we have achieved already makes me truly proud of all of our staff,” Mr Hughes said.
"We will strive to continue to add to this total and we have lots of events planned such as one of the toughest triathlons in the UK, and we're even doing another group marathon of 25 employees in Chester in September following our 100% success in the Manchester Marathon in April."
The P&A Group are an award winning manufacturing business based in Mold, North Wales, with a long standing heritage in the timber industry.
The Group feel that supporting the community and raising money for charity is very important and every year the company pick a chosen charity. Previously support has been for The Alder Hay Children’s Hospital, Meningitis Now and Alzheimer's UK.
