The P&A Landscaping and Timber Buildings division have generously donated time and resources to support The Alun School in Mold, in response to a letter from pupil Jessica Forde. Jessica is one of a number of Eco Ambassador at the School and wrote to ask P&A to ask for any contributions to help improve the ‘Clwyd Quad’ area at the Alun School. P&A were more than happy to help by donating timber garden products, plants and herbs plus the employee volunteer time to construct and improve this outside area. The letter from Jessica on behalf of the Alun Eco-Ambassadors stated, “We are hoping to re-design an outside space to provide a safe and social area for all children to enjoy”. Employees from P&A took on the project to improve the outside area helped by Alun School pupils.  The P&A team removed the current climbing wall and replaced it with new trellis for climbing flowers. P&A also donated new planters that will be used to grow herbs, vegetables or flowers, and created a new seating area. This has made the area safer and more appealing for the students to use.

Team members from across P&A’s departments got involved, Jane Morgan from the Garden Centre, Dylan Williams from the P&A Landscaping and Timber Buildings division, Andrew Robinson form P&A Pallets, Anthony Owen from the Zest4 leisure division and Kevin Lloyd from P&A Fencing Production. P&A employees took part in the project as part of P&A’s volunteer program enjoyed the day. Even the students had fun. One student said, “Today was 20% Gardening, 80% fun and 10% eating biscuits!” Another said, “I don’t like mud but I did it anyway…” The organising Teacher, Miss McIntyre said, “Community spirit – essential in Education! “.
