Employees at the P&A Group are to undertake a 24 hour run/walkathon charity challenge in June in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Inspired by and in memory of the remarkable fundraising achievements of the late Captain Sir Tom Moore, over half the company have already signed up to take part.
Starting at 5pm on Friday 25th June, the first walkers/runners will set off from Unit 1 at the company’s site in Mold and will follow a route of approximately 1.5 miles, ending up back at Unit 1.
The aim is to complete as many laps as possible in 24 hours. A collective effort, some people may want to do only one lap while others will be happy and able to do multiple! Part of the challenge is to have at least one person on the course for the entire 24 hours, from 5pm Friday to 5pm Saturday.
Organiser Andrew Baker, Finance Director at the P&A Group comments:
We’re delighted that so many people have already signed up to take part in the challenge. Ideally, we want all employees to get involved and their friends and family are welcome to join in too.
Macmillan Cancer Support needs us more than ever before. We’re hoping to raise £8,000 for the charity through this challenge so any support and donations would be very much appreciated!
Macmillan Cancer Support provides physical, financial and emotional support to people diagnosed with cancer, from the moment they have been diagnosed through treatment and beyond.
