P&A Managing Director And Fellow Local Business Leader, Robert Boyns, Take Part In Doddie Aid 2023 To Raise Funds For Motor Neuron Disease Research.
Steve Morgan, Managing Director of the P&A Group in Mold and Robert Boyns, Managing Director of Boyns Information Systems Ltd are taking part in Doddie Aid 2023, which starts on 1st January. The aim is to raise money for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation to fund vital research into Motor Neuron Disease (MND).
Doddie Aid is a virtual mass participation event, encouraging people to get active for a total of six weeks from 1st January 2023. Founded by former Scotland captain and British and Irish Lion, Rob Wainwright, in the last two years the event has seen over 30,000 participants cover 4 million miles and raise over £2 million to help find a cure for MND.
Both Steve and Rob are recruiting others to join them and be part of Team Wales for the six-week challenge. Leading the Team is Welsh rugby legend, Scott Quinnell, with other famous faces including Shane Williams, Jamie Baulch, Gabby Logan, Tom Shanklin and Rupert Moon, to name but a few.
Getting involved with Doddie Aid 2023 is very easy. Simply download the Doddie Aid app, join Team Wales and log the miles. People can walk, run, cycle, swim, dance or even hop - it doesn’t matter how they get their miles in. Split into six districts, the winner will be the area that covers the furthest distance over the duration of the event. Participants will also receive a free Doddie Aid snood as a thank you for their support and to keep them warm during the challenge.
Speaking ahead of Doddie Aid 2023, Steve Morgan said:
“This will be the second year Rob and I are raising funds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. Last February, we completed the Doddie Cup 500, cycling from Murrayfield in Edinburgh to The Principality Stadium in Cardiff, arriving in time for Wales vs Scotland match. The whole team, of which Rob and I were part, raised over £28,500 so our expectations for raising money during this event are considerably higher.
“We hope many more people will be encouraged to join Team Wales to help raise much-needed funds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. It is a phenomenal charity which has already raised millions for research into MND. It’s vital that a cure is found and Rob and I are looking forward to doing our bit to help raise awareness as well as the all-important funds.”
