18th Of October by Sam Torr
As part of our fundraising challenge for 2017, 45 employees from P&A and the Woodworks Garden Centre will take part in the Flintshire 10k Run.
Look out for us this Sunday (October 22nd) as we will be running in aid of our chosen charity for 2017, Cancer Research UK, with some of us dressed in panda suits. The Group aim to raise £20,000 in total for CRUK.
Panda the P&A mascot will also make an appearance, running alongside employees to boost team morale.
Only a stone’s throw away from the finish line is The Woodworks Garden Centre on Wrexham Road, Mold, which will be open for refreshments following the run, offering a warm welcome to runners.
Steve Morgan, Managing Director at P&A said: “Following on from our success in the Chester Marathon, the fact that 45 of us from the P&A Group are raising money together as a team is amazing.
“We have people from every age group, from every area of the company taking part and it is a great opportunity for us to have some fun and get to know each other a bit better.”
At P&A, we are a very diverse business with people working in various roles including timber manufacturing, catering, retail and warehousing.
As a growing company we are committed to employee fitness and long-term well-being as well as supporting the community and raising money for charity.
Continuing to take part in events is very important for the company following the success of previous years when as a group they raised over £15,000.00 for The Alzheimer’s Society and over £6,000 last year for Meningitis Now, in memory of one of their own.
“As a company we want to be Employer of Choice and so we take our employees’ health and wellbeing very seriously and doing something like this really helps us work together as a motivated team,” Steve added.
