Steve Morgan, Managing Director of the P&A Group is counting down to the Doddie Cup 500. With just 7 days to go before the start of the cycle, Steve and his fellow team mates are celebrating having raised over £24,000 so far!

The team will set off from Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on 10th February and cycle to The Principality Stadium in Cardiff, arriving on 12th February in readiness for the Wales vs Scotland game.

A total of 22 teams will be taking part with famous faces including Dr Rob Wainwright, a back row forward for Scotland and the British Lions, Olympic track cycle legend Sir Chris Hoy and long-distance cyclist, broadcaster and author, Mark Beaumont.

All are taking part to raise funds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation whose vision is: A World Free of MND.

Commenting on the forthcoming challenge, Steve Morgan, whose five generations of Morgan ancestors were timber merchants since 1832 based in Crieff in Perthshire, said:

“We’ve been blown away by people’s generosity and these incredible donations have spurred us on with training during these cold months. There’s still plenty of time to make donations and to help us raise as much money as possible for research into this terrible disease.”

Accompanying Steve on the trip will be Robert Boyns representing Boyns Information Systems Ltd, Wyn Jones from Pritchard Jones Lane LLP and Matt Davies, with a team of two – John Vaughan who works at P&A Group and Neil Colquhoun – providing support in an accompanying team van.

So far, the team has received generous sponsorship pledges from friends of their businesses as well as a huge single donation of over £10,000 from Pax8, a US tech company. In addition to the money raised, messages of support have come flooding in from customers of all of the P&A Group business units.
